About Us and Our Breeding Program

Meet The Breeder

Our Story

We are Zach and Allie Wilson and we are the owners of Wilson Ranch Corgis. We are located in Southeast Colorado (but our corgis can go anywhere in the US) and breed AKC Registered Pembroke Welsh Corgis. We got married in June 2022 and decided to fully start our breeding program. I am originally from the Texas panhandle that ended up following a Colorado cowboy! We met each other while attending Kansas State University, where I received my bachelors in Animal Science and Zach received his bachelors in Agronomy. We welcomed our first daughter in December 2024.

Our Philosophy

At Wilson Ranch Corgis, we believe in responsible breeding practices that prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs. Not only are our corgis well socialized with people, they are also raised on the ranch with us  and around cattle, horses and other dogs. They go everywhere with us! Zach and I both grew up on our family's ranches and showing livestock, so we have a love/passion for agriculture and the western lifestyle just as much as our corgis do!

What makes us different

We take pride in being a small family owned in-home breeding program and make sure our corgis live a healthy, happy corgi life! All of our dogs are genetically tested using Embark & Gen Sol Diagnostics. Our puppies are raised with ENS, ESI and a socialization curriculum to give them a great start in life. Our goal as corgi breeders, is to better the corgi breed by focusing on their temperament, structure and overall health. We love our corgis SO much and want to make sure our pups go to the BEST homes.

As early as 3 days old, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction. ENS is done by using different handling exercises that trigger different systems of the body. These small stressors help stimulate the neurological system which promotes growth & development of the puppies immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance. At the same time, we also begin ESI which helps enhance the puppies abilities to use their noses, react, and identify new scents.

As breeders, it is our goal to have our puppies ready for their new homes with as low stress as possible. We think it is important to introduce new sounds on a daily basis. Examples of this would be; sound of a vacuum, dogs barking, thunder noises and more! The goal is to introduce sounds that a normal puppy will hear daily in a way that doesn't cause the puppy stress and so that they slowly become comfortable around these everyday sounds.

Socialization

Our pups are raised alongside other dogs, but we also expose them to new environments. Taking them on car rides, being around babies/small children, taking them to my in-laws to see other animals like cats, chickens, horses (and possibly more lol), meeting new people, time in the crate and visiting other areas of the house they haven't explored yet. The list goes on and there is a lot of different socialization activities we can do!
